What day is it?

posted by:
Lindy

I feel so sick.  I can’t eat.  I feel like I have to throw up all the time.  All I do is sleep.  The anti-nausea meds make me very tired so I’ve been asleep more than awake the past four days.  This is horrible.

I’ve been checking my blog during awake moments.  Your posts, cards and comments usually put smile on my face.  Sometimes a tear down my cheek.  They always renew my faith.  Some of you should be hired by Hallmark.

It’s hard not to slip into dispair when you feel this sick day after day, but your support helps SO MUCH.

I missed out on my niece, Mary Ver Beek’s, open house last night.  I was looking forward to going, not only to congratulate her for graduating from high school, but also because they had delicious wraps from Cafe 58!  Dusty took the gang and it sounds like she had a wonderful party.  He also took a wrap to go so I was able to get one afterall.  Congratulations Mary!

Well…I’m about to take another antit-nausea pill which means I’ll go to sleep.  So goodnight.

We’re praying multiple times through out the day for you. We’ll pray specifically for food to sound good again for you so that you can skip taking those pesky meds and enjoy some time between chemo appts. Hang in there. Julie

  2. Aunt Sylvia and Uncle Ken says:

Not much to say. Hang in there girl. Give it that VZ willpower, attitude, stubbornness(whatever you want to call it at the moment), and when you can’t we’ll do it for you. We are praying always. Love you

  3. Aunt Carole says:

Lindy, I wish I could be sick for you. Just remember that as you have to take all those meds and get the chemo, God has His own “pick” line going into your body and soul, and He will help you to overcome this all as your Great Physician. And as you long to hold your dear children, He is longing for you to sense Him holding you and loving you. His faith in you to persevere and overcome is stronger than you can even imagine. How precious you are in His sight! Always, love & prayers…

Oh, so sorry it is so bad! Just think of it this way…you have little chemo guys scurrying around looking for the bad guys so that you can be healthy and whole and all that running around inside is stirring up your stomach. Okay, so maybe that doesn’t help but try to look at each day as one behind you on the way to getting well!
God loves you and sees every moment. The moments in bed, the moments at the john, the moments when you can give your children a little kiss. HE is there. I was out for a run early this morning and was praying for you….we are all lifting you up! You will have a great testimony when this is all done! Love you…hang in there!

Maybe it’s your body adjusting to the first dose, maybe it won’t be so hard next time. I can only hope and pray for you that is true!!
I think about you often and pray for you tons (and Dusty, the kids and your parents)!

  6. Amy & Brent Sluiter says:

So sorry you’re feeling so lousy! Praying for you multiple times each day… May God give you His peace when you sleep, in your hard moments, and in your good moments. He is always holding you in His Almighty hands. Love you guys. Hang in there!

  7. Julie Meyaard says:

Sorry you are feeling so sick Lindy. I will pray that each day you feel stronger and that the sickness is a sign that the battle is starting to be won in your body. When you are feeling better please call or email me so I can bring over whatever you are craving. I know you have a lot of people asking to care for the kids but I would also love to be added to the list if I could. I’m a little out of practice with the twin thing but I still think I could do it. 🙂

    Dear Lindy:
My heart just cries for all you, Dusty and your family are going through right now! It’s O.K. to be discouraged and tired right now- knowing we all want/need to help in small and big ways so that we can deal with this along with you.
Thanks for sharing the tender moments Brooke brought you-children are such innocent blessings of comfort.
Praying for restful healing days ahead,
    Loads of Love,
    Aunt Kathy

  13. Ron Boersema says:

Just passing along what God says. May you always find strength and comfort in the Word of God.
34:1 I will bless the Lord at all times; his praise shall continually be in my mouth. 2 My soul makes its boast in the Lord; let the humble hear and be glad. 3 Oh, magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together! 4 I sought the Lord, and he answered me and delivered me from all my fears. 5 Those who look to him are radiant, and their faces shall never be ashamed. 6 This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him and saved him out of all his troubles. 7 The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him, and delivers them. 8 Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good! Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him! 9 Oh, fear the Lord, you his saints, for those who fear him have no lack! 10 The young lions suffer want and hunger; but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing. 11 Come, O children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the Lord. 12 What man is there who desires life and loves many days, that he may see good? 13 Keep your tongue from evil and your lips from speaking deceit. 14 Turn away from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it. 15 The eyes of the Lord are toward the righteous and his ears toward their cry. 16 The face of the Lord is against those who do evil, to cut off the memory of them from the earth. 17 When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears and delivers them out of all their troubles. 18 The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit. 19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all. 20 He keeps all his bones; not one of them is broken. 21 Affliction will slay the wicked, and those who hate the righteous will be condemned. 22 The Lord redeems the life of his servants; none of those who take refuge in him will be condemned.

  15. Michelle says:

Oh, Lindy, This is terrible and it’s hard to find the right words, comforting words, when you are suffering. Just know that there are so, so, many people who are praying for you.
We’ll be keeping you in our thoughts all day.

  16. Kim Kolean says:

    Lindy and family,

Keeping you in my thoughts today and all this week. Most people now and days don’t stop to think how lucky they have it being healthy and just doing their day to day living with no struggles to deal with. I’ve seen my mom struggle with her health and the on-going care maintenance with my son, so I can appreciate the good days as I’m sure you are doing now. Just feel, you’re not alone. God is good. Kim K.

  17. Aunt Shirley says:

    Hi Lindy,
Praying for you 24/7. You are never out of our thoughts and prayers. I feel so bad for you – take a day at a time.
Thank you Lindy for your prayers for Christy and Mitch. The growth is gone – little Adriana is a miracle baby.
God is still doing miracles and you know that very well with your little Samantha. How Great is Our God.
    Blessings
