Happy Fourth!

Happy Fourth of July everyone!  I hope you’re enjoying the fourth with your friends and/or family and having a safe fun time.

I am missing the fourth this year because I’m in the middle of a miserable weekend.  Full of nausea, discomfort, sleep, disconnectedness, etc.  I look forward to the Fourth next year though and celebrating it with our family.

Dusty and Brooklyn had a camp out in the yard last night.  It’s Brooklyn’s favorite thing to do in the summer with her dad.  They pitched the tent, put the babies to bed, made smores and went to the fireworks at Kollen’s Park.  I was in bed at 8 pm so I missed all of it, but they said they had a great time.

Samantha is still sick so I’m quite worried about her.  She’s been throwing up and not herself.  We think it’s a side effect of the medicine she was on for her ear infection.  I hope it’s nothing serious.  We’re keeping an eye on it.   Please pray that she perk up and get better.

The nausea is still quite intense for me and my back hurts from the shot.  I’m starting to understand and accept the cycle of chemo.  I’m learning to accept the horrible weeks full of aches, pains, nausea, discomfort and to enjoy the good week that follows.  Besides, only one more horrible round of A/C.  Then I start Taxol (sp?) which I hope is much better.

Thank you for your prayers.  God is good and will see me through this.

    Happy Fourth of July, Lindy!
I saw a light on in the tent when we went by last night after the fireworks. I figured it was Brooklyn–what a fun tradition. We’ll pray that you start to feel relief soon and also for Samantha to get over her sickness quickly. Hang in there.

I’m sorry you’re feeling so miserable. Better days are ahead. Next year I’ll put the little ones to bed (and stay) so you can campout with Brooke and Dusty. It sounds like way too much fun to miss.

Feeling miserable is so hard especially when you have little ones! You are right though- next year will make this year feel like a distant memory… Do you have to have the neulasta shot on your last cycle of A/C? Praying the nausea goes away soon!

In the midst of feeling horrible, you still have an incredible attitude and perspective: At least only one more horrible round, at least next year you’ll enjoy the 4th of July actvities with your family, God is good and He WILL see you through this! Your faith is strong and our Healer God is even stronger. He WILL see you through this! We’re praying for you, and Samantha, too… trusting Him for His healing, strength, and perseverance. Love you guys! Amy

    Lindy,
I’m praying that the fluids help tomorrow and that you will “turn the corner” on this round of chemo. As Brooklyn says, “I hate cancer, it’s dumb”. I agree totally.
    Praying for little Sam too.
    Jana

I’m glad Dusty and Brooklyn got to enjoy the fireworks!!! You’re not alone in having a non firework evening granted my missing the fireworks was for different reasons than yours. Sort of funny I was at Kollens Park on the forth of July… I thought that was the night of the America’s birthday- Next time if you could have Dusty give me a call and let me know the firework schedule I would really appreciate it- or have Brooke give me a call cause I know the girls would really appreciate it- maybe we could all go together next year:) I will talk to you soon – hang in there!!! I hope Samantha is feeling better too- you’ll all be in my prayers.
