Good Day

posted by:
Lindy

We had a great day today.  Some of our friends came over tonight to watch the kids and clean the house.  It smells so clean in here.  I love that.  Dusty and I went out for Mexican food and I bought some scarves and a hat for when my hair falls out.

It’s all becoming too real.  The fact that I have cancer.  That chemo is going to happen soon.  That my hair is going to fall out.  I know it’s just hair, but I kind of like hair.   Especially since I’m a girl.

Technical Update:  I’ve had many emails stating that you’re having trouble posting comments to the blog.  None of you have threatened anything yet, but I could tell if we didn’t do something soon things might get nasty.  Dusty fixed it and  you won’t be asked mathematical questions anymore (it was for spam prevention).

Speaking of blog comments, I run to my computer like a kid on Christmas morning to read them.  I love reading them.  Thank you for taking the time to read and write.

Have a great night and a wonderful Sunday.

You are like me with email…I love getting email! It just makes your day that someone cares, right?! Joshua and I prayed for you when I tucked him into bed tonight.
Hopefully as the cancer and chemo become more real, God becomes REALER!! I know that is not a word but it can be when its for God right?! How about even better — HEALER!
Praying for comfort, strength, peace, wisdom and an overall sense of His presence in this journey that you WILL win.
    Love you guys!

    Hey Lindy-

I’m very glad to hear that it sounds like the latest tests are turning out well- It must be great to be able to breath a little bit easier… God is always there and knows just how much we can handle – even when you think you can’t handle this just know He will hold your hand and lead you through… Oh, by the way, I do really like the new hair cut, it looks great!!! Take care, my thoughts and prayers are with you.

Lindy – Your strong faith is such a testimony to God’s power to give strength when we need it! I’m praying for peace and courage as this obstacle becomes more real. God will be the victor in this battle!

Hi. Thinking about you often and checking for your updates. Carole will be letting me know how and when I’ll be able to sign up to bring a supper over sometime in the future. I just found an awesome receipe for Double Chocolate Oatmeal cookies. Talk about heaven on earth!!! I’ll try to toss in some healthy stuff too. Carole said that your church is organizing something. I’m sure I’ll hear more as time goes on.

Love the hair do. I still have ya beat in the shortness category though. Have a good night. Love, Kim Kolean

Hi Lindy, It worked – that went quite well – go figure. What a great photo of you and Max – he is a doll. And I like that new “do”. That was great for you and Dusty to have some time together – it has to have been so hectic for you – and I hope you both got to just breathe a bit and catch up on each other. Friends are wonderful blessings aren’t they. I really enjoy this blog and by the way young lady you are a very good writer. By reading your updates – it is great for us prayer warriors to pray for specifics. I have been thinking of your best friend Jill lately and how difficult this is for her too – those best friends are so precious. I have been thinking of how I can encourage you and working with music for church from week to week and all – I want to share some words from a song that I keep singing to myself. My goal is to give you a recording of all the songs I share with you on this journey. For this week of your journey – here are words to a song that I believe has been led by the spirit. God is too wise to be mistaken, God is too good to be unkind; So when you don’t understand, When you don’t see His plan, When you can’t trace His hand, Trust His heart. He alone is faithful and true. He alone knows what is best for you. We are praying for your mom and dad, Clair and Jane. I know it is difficult for mom and dad – I can’t imagine what they are going through.
Love you all – Uncle Gar and Aunt Shirley

  10. Good morning Sunshine! I want you to know that you are in my thoughts and prayers today. Enjoy your day.

Hi Lindy. I know first hand that our Great God is a loving Lord that is always here for us. He provided everything I asked for when Shari was diagnosed with terminal cancer in the spring of 2003. Joyce, that I will be marrying next month, was diagnosed with terminal ovarian cancer 24 years ago, that metastasis to her liver and other areas. After 1 1/2 years of chemo it all disappeared and has never returned!! What Jesus has in store for us only he knows. I do know that he always loves us, is always here for us, and does do miracles even today. Just appreciate each day with your family. Joyce and I will be praying for you and your loving family. Ron

Hi Lindy, Eric Bazan and I were talking about old times here at Herman Miller. I told him that you and I used to share a cubicle when you were working on the GSA team. You were working on the baby furniture store idea. What an exciting time you had. Brooklyn was just a little tyke. I had not heard that you had twins so congratulations. What fun all your children must all be for both of you. You continue to make us smile and laugh with some of your entries. The comment on not sharing your mothers age caught me with an actual out loud burst of humor. Thank you for your words of wit and know that all of us are thinking about you. Prayers of concern will continue to come your way.
    Blessings,
    Sue Wagner

    Lindy,
I am so glad we have received your blog, so we can be in prayer for you as you go through this cancer journey, or bump in the road as you put it:) I wanted to tell you that we have a very high regard for Dr. VanderWoude, my husbands sister went to her and we took her there several times as well as seeing her at the hospital alot, she is one of the best around and has a great personality besides. The pictures are great, your kids are beautiful, what a blessing. Take care of yourself, and we will be praying on your behalf and cheering you on from the Gov. team at HMI.

    Lindy –

You, Dusty and your family are definitely in our prayers. You’re an inpiration of courage and I am moved by your faith. God is good and He is the great healer. I know He will be faithful to you.

If there is ANYTHING you need, besides prayer, I would be happy to help. Unlike the busy time you’re experiencing I don’t have much going on and can offer assistance in any capacity.

Sending hugs and lots of love,
    Amy (Emmick) Machiela

    Hi Lindy,
You don’t know me, but I think we have a few mutual friends and I think you have read a bit of my Caring Bridge page.

Wow. I can’t really accurately describe how it feels to read your blog. I feel my tears welling up and yet I am smiling too because I can tell you are having the same experience with God holding you TIGHTLY in His grasp.

The cancer makes me mad….but the glory God is going to get through your story makes me smile. The enemy doesn’t have a chance.

Sending love in Christ and prayers,
    Jill Nelson

Please feel free to call me or email me if you ever want to talk about stuff. There will be hard days, but God is SO faithful. He will carry you and your beautiful family through this.
