Okay Today

posted by:
Lindy

I am doing much better today.  No nausea.  No pills.  No fluids today.  Just a blood draw.  I slept last night.  I’m so tired.  I can do tired.  I have twins.  Tired is nothing.

I don’t have anything new to update you with.  Just going through the ins and outs of cancer and chemo.  Wishing I had a fast forward button so this could all be behind us.

I have realized lately how this is affecting Brooklyn.  This is hard for adults to deal with so it’s gotta be tough for a 5-year-old.  She was crying the other day that she wants her mama back.  Having people in the house to help with Brooke, Max and Samantha is such a blessing, but it’s really different for her.  She said she wants me to take her to Captain Sundae, swimming, the park, make her lunch, and not other people.  Basic stuff.  I explained that I will someday soon and that right now I’m fighting cancer.  She asked if cancer was fighting me back and I said yes, cancer and I are in a fight right now, but I’m going to win.   Because I will.  I’m going to win.

I caught her giggling at my bald head the other day.  I’m glad I can still make her laugh.  🙂

Lindy, we were out of town for a few days. Just caught up on your most recent posts. Glad to hear you’re feeling better today. I always enjoy reading your words, although they make me so emotional! Hey, we’re on the schedule for this coming Monday’s meal… do you guys like Spinach Mushroom Lasagna, or would you prefer regular lasagna… or something other than lasagna? livvy@dutchstudio.com

No one can do things like mom can. Mom’s are very special people. Brooklyn knows that. Praying that God grants you the strength to do all the normal things again.

So glad you are feeling better today. I thought of you when I was at Captain Sundae(or better known to us as the Dairy-Y) the other day. Back when our biggest worry was who would come to visit us at work, and what flavor shake we were going to have that day. Times have changed, but I know you have only gotten stronger with age and you can beat this thing!!!

Lindy, I’m glad to hear that today was a good day!
When I received the news about your situation, the first thing that came to my heart and spirit was that you will have the victory over this cancer. That has been my prayer for you and your family. I know you are in God’s hands, I know you are safe. Your comment for today about Brooklyn giggling about your hair made me recall a funny thing that happended in circle time when out of the blue Brooklyn shouted “Maestra, maestra guess what? My dad is bald!” and she laughed out loud. You have a wonderful daughter and family – I will continue to believe and pray with you for your healing.

    Blessings,
    Maestra Perla De Leon

    Hey Lindy,
Of course when you don’t hear from someone for so long and then something like your sickness occurs, you may think they are responding out of a sense of morbid duty. I can only say that this is not the case at all. May I commend you on your beautiful strenth and fortitude. You are nothing short of inspiring I feel fortunate be within our family. God bless everyone dealing with things as tough as your troubles and those who have not found the strength that you posses.
