Stable

Stable.  That’s what they call my cancer.  Stable.  I feel everything except stable.  Sick, tired, nauseous, sad, scared, annoyed, angry, grateful.  What’s stable?  Yes, I meant to write grateful because in the midst of misery I’m thankful for a lot of things.

I went to U of M last week Thursday and met with Dr. Schott.  The good news is that we clarified my adrenal glands will work they are just sluggish and that’s why they put me on Prednisone.  Just when I think I’m done with steroids, I get another one.  It’s working though, so I’m thankful for that.  Everything else checked out fine.  No new lumps or bumps were found.  Lab work looked good.  The bad news is that we can’t fix my nausea.  I feel like I have the stomach flu everyday.  Some days are better than others, but at some point during the day I feel really sick.  We’re trying a new medication for it.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – I’m sick of being sick!  Some days it’s more a mental fight than a physical fight.  Either way, it’s hard and I’m tired of it.  I just want to feel better.

I return to U of M on December 2 for scans.  Please pray they don’t find cancer anywhere in my body.

If I don’t write again, I wish everyone a happy and blessed Thanksgiving.  Gobble gobble.

For I will restore health to you and heal you of your wounds. – Jeremiah 30:17

Prayer Requests:

  • Returned strength and energy
  • No more nausea
  • The scans on December 2 are clear
  • My family – Dusty, kids, our parents, siblings, etc.
  • Thanks for our support system.

Pastor Scott preached on the topic of “calamity” on Sunday and it felt as if he was preaching right to Dad and me.
The last point he made was this….
“Be still and know that I am God”. Psalm 46:1-3, 8-10a
This was the last paragraph of his message. I LOVE it!!
“Live expectantly knowing that God is birthing something magnificent, trust God’s promises that He is our ever present help in times of trouble, and the be still, put down your puny arms and trust the mighty outstretched arms of God.”
Praying for you, Dusty and the kids constantly!

    Lindy,
I am so sorry to hear how sick you have been. Like so many others your family is on mind constantly and I have been praying that the reason it has been quiet on your blog is because you have been feeling great and enjoying time with your family. Thank you for sharing and we will be praying for some reprive from this nausea and that you would have an incredible Thanksgiving Day with your family.
    With Love,

Hi Lindy, I can’t imagine what it’s been like for you to be going through all of this. I think I’d be pretty depressed by now if I felt sick all the time. Just know that, for one thing, you are a huge inspiration to me. Whenever I find myself thinking I’m too tired, too busy, too whatever, I think of you and how you have no choice but to forge ahead. In your strength and strong faith, I find strength to also forge ahead, realizing I have nothing that I should complain about and so much to be thankful for. Also, know that there is probably not one second of any day that you are not being prayed for by someone. May our prayers cradle you in God’s arms as His constant eye is ever over you and your family. Breathing in and out prayers for your family…
